The Pool Structures were new construction, led by an AOR that related the exteriors to that of the Main Residence. MR Architecture’s approach to the interior of the Pool House was to keep the architecture open and flexible, so that it could be used in a variety of ways for a mixture of functions. The fixed bar is tucked away along with other back of house spaces to leave a double height, open floor for loose, interchangeable furniture.
By contrast, the Changing Rooms that flank the end of the pool and are small and intimate. Each wing holds 2 bathrooms and private outdoor showers, with a covered lounge area between each. Despite being intimate, the changing rooms are luxurious and functional, with plenty of built in storage with floating shelves and vanities made from cristallo quartzite and tiled ceramic walls.
