Mecox Bay Estate - Main Residence

Client: Private

Location: Water Mill, New York

Completed: July 2018

Size: 20,000 SF

Role: Junior Project Manager

The interior architecture of the Main Residence was designed to compliment its historic shell, rather than replicate the traditional Georgian style. By utilizing unexpected finishes and simplified silhouettes, traditional elements such as ceiling coffers, fireplaces, and wall moldings are refreshed and breathe new life into the formal rooms of the house.

Unusual details such as the Entry Foyer floor, which features an oak parquet with stone inlay, and the Dining Room paneling, which was hand wrapped in a burlap finish, also help to make these spaces stand out in an unassuming way.

Functionality is not spared, which is highlighted in the fully operational kitchen, which features a Bulter’s Pantry, storage pantry, 2 islands, and a full range of stainless steel appliances.
