Paz home is a home goods and design company based in Mexico City and Oaxaca City. The company prides itself on bringing customers high quality, ethically made and meaningful objects and spaces. Their signature product are hand dipped candles made by a fourth-generation candle-making family.

As paz home is currently an online retailer only, the proposal for a modular fixture was developed with the intent for the vendor to have a fixture that was easily multiplied and convertible to be used along a wall, floor, or ceiling, depending on the given space at a pop-up show, or upon expansion, their own brick and mortar.

Inspired by the natural process of how dipped candles are made, it was clear that the candles are best showcased while hung.

The linear and colorful nature of the candles also lent itself to the inspiration of the fixture design. The materials selected are meant to serve as a backdrop that did not distract from the featured items.

The focus of the fixturing became the elegant materials palette And expressive joinery.

A solid oak wood shelf would be both durable and beautiful, while an oil rubbed bronze dowel system welded together would patina over time and add a human touch to the hard material.

Candles are both utilitarian and decorative, used as light sources, part of religious rituals, and celebrations.
